1. Data we collect
We only collect the following data about you when you visit cetome.com:
- Log Data: Your IP address, web browser version, and operating system. This is for technical logging and security purposes only.
- Time Stamps: The date and time of your visit.
- Referral Data: The address of the website from which you accessed our site.
- Usage Statistics: Anonymous information about how you interact with our site (pages viewed, time spent) via Matomo Analytics, our self-hosted audience measurement tool, used without cookies and with your IP address anonymised.
- Contact Information: Name and email address provided voluntarily via our webforms (contact, training interest) so we can respond to your inquiry.
- Document requests: When you ask for one of our documents, such as the PDF of an article, we email a one-time download link to the address you give us, and we record that address, which document you asked for, the page you asked it from, your IP address, your browser, and whether and from where the link was used. This is a commercial purpose: we use it to know who reads our work, and we may write to you about our services. We do not run a newsletter and you are not subscribed to one. Ask us and we delete every record of your address.
- Tool Usage: If you use any of our online tools or evaluations, you may voluntarily share your email address to receive your specific results and related reports.
- Call bookings: If you book a call with us, the booking is made on Calendly, not on this site. Whatever you enter there is held by Calendly under its own privacy policy, and we receive the appointment and the details you chose to give.
2. How we collect data
You directly provide us with most of the data we collect. We collect and process data when you:
- Voluntarily submit a form or utilise our online assessment tools.
- Browse our website (server logs and anonymous audience measurement).
3. How we use your data
We collect your data to:
- Respond to your requests and deliver tool-generated results.
- Send you the document you asked for, and write to you about our services afterwards, which is why we ask for an address before a download. Tell us to stop and we stop.
- Improve our website content and tools by analysing aggregated, anonymous usage patterns.
- Protect our infrastructure against cyber attacks.
- We never sell, rent, resell or otherwise trade your personal data, to anyone, for any purpose. It is used by cetome, for the purposes above, and nothing else.
4. Cookies & Security Technologies
cetome.com does not set any cookies, nor any other identifier stored in your browser. This is why the site shows no cookie banner: no consent is required for what we do.
- Matomo Analytics: We use Matomo, hosted on our own server (stats.cetome.com), to measure website traffic. It runs without cookies, your IP address is anonymised before storage, and the resulting statistics are aggregated and used solely by us to improve the site. They are not shared with any third party and are not combined with other data about you. This follows the configuration recognised by the French data protection authority (CNIL) as exempt from consent.
- Calendly: The “book a call” links take you to calendly.com, a third party with its own privacy policy and its own cookies. Nothing is embedded in our pages, we pass nothing to Calendly about you, and no Calendly code runs on cetome.com: the cookies are set only once you are on their site, and only if you go there.
- Altcha: We use a self-hosted implementation of the open-source Altcha service to protect our forms from spam and automated abuse. This verification calculates a proof-of-work puzzle entirely within your browser. The result is checked on our own infrastructure, and no personal information is sent to a third party. Our form endpoints also apply a per-address rate limit, based on your IP address, which is not stored beyond the short limiting window.
5. Sharing your data
We never sell, rent or resell your personal data, and we never share it with third parties for their own purposes. Your data is not passed to destination websites when you follow external links from our site. The only companies that handle it are the ones that run our own infrastructure, such as our hosting provider, and they act on our instructions alone.
6. How we secure and store your data
- Encryption: All communication is encrypted via TLS to ensure the confidentiality of your data.
- Access Control: We implement strict encryption and access controls on our systems to ensure that nobody can access your data without being authorised to do so.
- Location: Data is stored on secure servers located within the European Union.
- Retention: We keep personal data for a maximum of 12 months. After this period, data is automatically deleted.
7. What are your data protection rights?
Under the GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure (“right to be forgotten”), restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability.
If you make a request, we have 30 days to respond. To exercise these rights, use our contact form. Tell us the address you used and we remove every record of it.
